South Dakota is Becoming Younger

The Census Bureau recently released new estimates that examine population changes among groups by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin down to the county level. What’s notable about these stats is South Dakota’s median age - it is trending downward. Our state is getting younger and was one of seven states to do so between July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2013.


Governor Daugaard Speaks to South Dakota Business Climate

Leading up to CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business ranking, Governor Daugaard was invited to speak about South Dakota’s business climate on CNBC’s blog. Despite ranking 11th in the newly released rankings, South Dakota has a premier business climate and the Governor’s run-down of our state’s business climate is inspiring.

With an outlook that celebrates fiscal responsibility and unobtrusive government, South Dakota continues to be a phenomenal location for business.

Meet Dave Anderson

Dave is the Community Development Representative for the GOED. His main goal is to help South Dakota communities grow and prosper. He is available to help with everything from developing and implementing community and economic development initiatives to facilitating public meetings to talking one-on-one with business leaders. Last year, Dave visited nearly 120 communities across the state.
