ED Practitioner Training
Last month, the State of South Dakota became a governing member of Heartland Economic Development Course, Inc., a non-profit consortium of state development associations including KS, NE, IA, OK, MO and now SD. This organization presents an annual International Economic Development Council (IEDC) accredited “Basic Economic Development Course,” conducted in conjunction with the University of Northern Iowa, hosted in Blue Springs, MO (suburb of Kansas City). Our involvement with this organization will put the GOED in a position to influence future ED curriculum for ED practitioners throughout the multi-state region.
In addition to taking a leadership role in crafting future curriculum, the GOED, in 2014, is pleased to announce matching funding of up to $1,000 per EDC to send newly hired and other interested economic development practitioners to an International Economic Development Council (IEDC) accredited “Basic Economic Development Course.” Read More
